On Wednesdays we wear pink but donning the feminine shade is also obligatory so close to Valentine’s Day. Thus, this past weekend my fellow bloggers and I headed over to Life Grand Café in Pretoria, in perfectly coordinated outfits, to kick off the Valentine’s festivities in style. What? Yes we assign themes to our gatherings. We are bloggers after all.
Initially, I had a midi skirt in mind for the pretty affair however, despite being a huge fan of their silhouette, pencil skirts tend to suit me better. The pink skirt I chose for the occasion is from Topshop and it has proven to be a very versatile piece. I have dressed it up for events, paired it with structured shirts for the office and as is the case here, dressed it down for a girly session with friends. Wearing a tank top
and chunky heels with the skirt added a relaxed feel to the look whereas the pastel yellow shade and pearl accessories added a ladylike charm.

Speaking of charm, if Prince Charming happens to be MIA on Valentine’s Day – embrace it. Pick a theme, dress up and spend time with loving friends. Regardless of whether that applies to you or whether you are in a relationship, my wishes for you this Valentine’s Day are that you may recognise that you are loved and appreciated by those close to you and that all the calories consumed on the 14th are collected by cupid before the clock strikes 12. Happy Valentine’s Day!
